I'm using a pair of bass reinforcement speakers along with my svs pb ultra 16, everything is crossed over out of my Yamaha av at 90hz but the reinforcement speakers have a range down to 40hz so I'm using the peq in the Yamaha for those subs to pull down the 25hz levels , not sure if they could take the excursion. any better ideas?

Sure, you’re pulling down the 25 Hz level, but that’s not the same as a high pass filter. If you want a "better idea," if you really want high-pass filtering, get an outboard electronic crossover.

sorry about the late reply work got the way, would just pulling down the lows say 25hz be enough to protect speaker its recommended to be high passed around 40hz? thanks
