I've got a thousand pounds of old vinyl, some of which is of very high quality, and much of which I am emotionally tied to. I want to rip it to a laptop for portability but I also want it suitable for serious listening because I may be serving this stuff from a computer to my main listening system.
Not only does the laptop have no line level input, it has a fairly crappy internal card. Can anyone recommend an external card with a usb interface and a decent sampling rate that would do some good copies from the tape-out on my amp?
