My current Room = 20x16x9 with a 16 ft opening on one side leading to nook and kitchen.

My current setup:
  • L/R: PSB Stratus Silveri Tower
  • C: PSB Status Silver C6i
  • SR: PSB Image 1B
Recently upgraded:
  • Proc: used Proceed AVP2
  • AMP: Emotiva MPS-1
  • Sub: Velodyne DD-18

After my recent upgrade on the proc&amp, I got the itch and keep thinking that my speakers should be also looked at....it is over 10 years old.
Music/Movie is about 40/60. I have auditioned the Revel F32/C32/M22, Aerial LR3/CC3b/SR3, Dynaudio Focus 220. Loved the Revel and Aerial very much, but it's just a bit out of my price range...looking to stop at 3k for L/R/C. So starting to do more research. List below are something that I have thought of, but never auditioned them.

  • Triangle Antel
  • Focal Profile,
  • Onix Ref3

Are these consider an upgrade to the PSB? What other speakers would be a suitable upgrade path that would compliments the upgraded components?

I love the Aerial because they can be set up in a tight space. Which my other dilemma. The L/R/C will have to be enclosed in a 72" media niche along with the TV.

How about...... PSB? Just a thought. The Platinum is considered higher end than the Stratus. What is your budget?

3k for l/r/c.
What about the new PSB Stratus line? L/R/C will run for about $3000 even. I've seen them and they are beautiful looking speakers. Didn't get a chance to audition though.

assuming you are referring to the G series. Could not find a dealer nearby to audition. The one that I got the stratus from years ago decided to drop PSB.
From what I was told, the G are more dynamic that the Stratus Silver. big improvement? probably not...

I auditioned the Platinum series and the M2 is a great bookshelf. Clarity was superb which rivaled that of more expensive speakers I listened to (Dynaudio Contour S1.4, B&W 805S, Paradigm S2). Although an M2 and C4 center will be a bit over your budget (around $3500). Are you specifically looking for towers?
