I am having yamaha yht 196 av receiver package. I wanted to upgrade my speakers so visited the shop where i brought this av receiver.the shop owner gave me boston classic cs 225c center speaker and yamaha ns e56 speakers for front.boston center speaker is 8 ohms and rest all are 6 ohms.
Yamaha ns e56 speakers are ment for rear but i want to use them as front speakers. What are the setting precautions to be taken?my yamaha yht 196 dnt have on screen setup.
Thanks in advance

Don't worry about the ohm issue. You should be fine. How it all sounds together to your ears is more important. What are you using for surrounds?

Thanks for your reply. For surround i m using same speakers which came with yamaha yht 196 package.i m not getting desired sound.higher frequency is more. I want good mid range thats why i upgraded my speakers. Center speaker have increased my bass more that i dnt really wanted

I dnt knw abt the crossover bcoz the setup dnt really shows abt every speaker crossove. Its showing common crossover. By default its 160Hz.equlizer setting is for all speaker but its confusing so i dnt changed it.i want to contol higher frequencies which are irritating me. I want balanced sound. If you may guide me with some information

Dan sir today i bought measuring tape and measured the distance of all speakers from my sitting place and configure in setup. Sound was little good then before. Then i moved my subwoofer position and i placed it in a place from where it was not sounding much muddy. Then i setup levels front and right speaker to - 3 and increased center to 0 which was earlier - 3. Now the sound is much better.
