Upgrade to flat-panel (on-wall) style speakers

My dad recently bought a plasma for the living room and my mom loves the idea of flat panel style speakers to go next to it. We already have a Polk RM6700 system (http://reviews.cnet.com/Polk_Audio_RM6700/4505-7868_7-20378291.html), but my mom likes the idea of speakers that run the length of the TV instead of just little buds next to it. We're happy with the Polks, and my dad doesnt want to spend much more money, so I'd just replace the left, center, and right channels. I need a recommendation on a speaker that's affordable (say under $200 retail per speaker) and will outperform the polks. Any recommendations?

Not in your price range. There are not many flat screen friendly speakers out there. You may have to increase your budget.

If you want really flat panel speakers, try these Wharfedale Flat Panel NTS they look just like a picture hanging on the wall. I have been thinking of using them for surround speakers in my bedroom setup, but I haven't heard or tested them out to see how they sound, but they look interesting.

cheers:)

You may get a little better performance out of the Athenas than the Polks. I'd suggest listening to each first if possible.
