Upgrade to DVD/CD player or 2 sep. units?

I'm in the processing of upgrading my system; I want to get possibly the new Yamaha DVD-S2500 player that will obviously play just about everything. Do most people now use a cd/dvd combo player for both music CDs and DVDs are do most buy 2 separate units, one for cds and one for DVDs? I've been told not to "wear out" a high end dvd player playing music cds on a daily basis. I don't need a changer as I usually just play one cd at a time anyway.

with BluRay or HDDVD coming before the end of the year, I recommend you not sink a ton of money into a DVD player. Get a decent one (no more than $ 300) and spin away on those cd's in the same unit.

Do you have a player now? Are you missing something that you must have in a new player?

All this aside, you received bogus recommendation about high end players. If they cannot handle daily use, it is a failed design and you don't want part of it.
Nothing wrong with a changer. Most convenient to load up and listen without worrying about the next CD, or changing.
