My set up now is for the center I have Definitive Technology ProCenter 1000 and the fronts I have Definitive Technology ProMonitor 800. Sub is Definitive Technology ProSub 800. Now my receiver is the Onkyo 606. Will there be a noticeable sound difference and upscaling going with the Pioneer. Should I upgrade. Thanks

Yes and no is the answer.

1. Upscaling should be better in the Pioneer as it is using the Anchor Bay solution which is highly regarded. The Faraoudja is not that great especially with analog sources.

2. The Pioneer Adnanced MCACC offers more flexibility with room eq and set up than the Onkyo does. So you could in theory get a better sound quality. But alot of this still depends on the room and your speakers.

The power differences would be negligible between the two and modern amps pretty much all sound the same when operating within their limits.

The rule of thumb is speakers and room acoustics dictate about 90% of what you hear.

So unless your looking for a better video processor and auto set up system then the upgrade may not be worth it.

But it would be a new toy and we all like new toys. :D
