Upgrade from PSB B5

Hello again, gurus. Now that I have added a decent sub to my modest system, the next step for me is to start researching speakers that might provide a bit of improvement. I enjoy the PSBs very much--they are accurate and, I think, slightly "warm" in their presentation--I like the PSB sound. However, being by nature restless, I'm ready for a change. Within a budget of 750 or so, I'm looking for a sound that's more dynamic. The B5s are superb, I think, for acoustically-based pop, small group jazz, string ensembles, jazz vocals...in general, quieter production that has some air around it. This is great, because this is what I listen to the majority of the time. However, if I could find a speaker that can present this music superbly, but also kick a little harder for those times when I want to crank some Zep or Mahler and keep within that price constraint, I would be very happy to pass the PSBs on to some lucky soul and make a change. Any suggestions?

Can you trade them in for towers of the same line?

That's an interesting idea. Saturday audio exchange here in Chicago does offer trade in credits. Wonder though if the T5s would offer much more in dynamics...same drivers right?

I have an older pair of Image T45s and the dynamics are up another level compared with by Image 1Bs built around the same driver. I've had them for close to 10 years now with no thought of upgrading.

Do you have an opinion on the Bronze towers? SAE is offering them at a very attractive price--I'll audition them, of course, but would enjoy your input!
I can not speak for the Bronze series - however, the reviews and word on them is good.

I really did like the Silver series RX-6 > as they have good resolution, with good imaging, detail
and definition. And, I do prefer the Silver series sonic-signature sound, over the PSB Image series
sonic-signature sound. Check them all out while you are there - enjoy the adventure.

I have an opportunity to pick up a pair of PSB T65s for under $300.00. Any opinions?

A good price - look them over, if they look good - then listen to them and make sure
they sound good, and have not been abused.

+1 on Zieglj01 says about checking them to see if they were abused. If they are indeed good, you got a pair of great speakers for a very good deal.
