I think we all agree that we'll be interested in hearing what the OP says. I do find it interesting that I'm the only person who is advising caution, as we don't have any idea what type of system the OP has.

Best Regards,

What a shame - all that time & effort from everyone, giving the advice that was requested - and no feedback whatsoever....

my appologies...

So sorry for not getting back to you all! the seller took forever to get back in touch with me...I tried multiple times to hear with no avail. I still believe they are for sale but I'm reconsidering based this:
N803's while I'm sure are a great speaker for the $2k price...they just aren't for me all things considered. My room requirements are just not enough for them, and considering I may move in the near future isn't helping that cause. Also, my amplification would HAVE to improve to get the most out of them, again not something I'd like to do. I'd rather devote that money elsewhere...so my thoughts at the moment are 805di's but I don't want to post any questions because I'm still all over the place. Since I'm considering some of the up and coming Marantz 7xxx line soon to come out...it should be enough to handle the 805Di's while fulfilling other needs as well.

In the end I think I was trying to tell myself the N803's are perfect but for me they aren't.

An amp that can power most speakers easily including the N802, or 800D even, is the Yamaha P2500S. Not a very expensive amp by any means, but provides a high power transparent signal into low impedance speakers with ease. No 'exotic' amps are needed for transparent amplification.
