unauthorized dealers?

Hey all. I have a question about unauthorized dealers? I am looking at a denon 2309ci. If you look on pricegrabber.com, there are a lot of them for very cheap. What should I be worried about from an unauthorized dealer?

I would have put this in the deals, deals deals section but it won't let me start a thread.

Denon is very explicit that they won't honor their warranty if their products are bought from unauthorized dealers. Take a look at Dakmart which has good prices on Denon and is an authorized dealer. Also, 6th Avenue is an authorized dealer and has a 25% coupon floating around the web.

I've never bought any new electronics from any one but an authorized dealer.
And of course never had any issues. I'm sure as soon as I do, what ever I buy will go to crap a week after I bought it. That would be my luck.:)

But I never feel good about recommending unauthorized dealers for this very reason.

It's a gamble going that route. But as I said; never an issue. Realistically, I most likely could have saved hundreds of dollars, but I have no regrets for the piece of mind.

No warranty, no support, they take your money and run. You could send it to Denon and it still wouldn't be covered.

DO NOT buy from broadway photo = BAD NEWS.

I wondered about them. They have good prices on plasma TVs but answer questions pretty iffy.

Could you elaborate further? that is if you feel comforatble in doing so.

Thanks!

Broadway Photo, if it is the company I am thinking of, should be avoided at all cost. They operate under several different names, and have had many complaints filed against them through the BBB. I ran across their website while looking for photo gear. Before I buy from anywhere, I check them out on www.resellerratings.com. My main sites for buying most things online are B&H Photo, Newegg, Parts Express, and Amazon.

Broadway Photo deals in gray market gear. When I was looking to buy some photo gear, pretty much all the reviews I read about them said the same thing. They advertise a low price, and when you place your order they call you and use high pressure sales techniques to upsell you things you don't need. They say that items that should be included in the purchase price such as battery, charger, cables, even the standard warranty, are extra. When you decline to purchase these extras, at a huge mark up, they claim the item is out of stock. Classic bait and switch.
