That isn't true - I've had both Best Buy and HH Gregg price match to amazon or other retailers. Hell, one time Best Buy price matched a website that was clearly a scam site and gave me like 50% off of a $500 item that was a new to stores part. lol
I suppose it depends on who's working at Best Buy - people who just work there or geeks who think they own Best Buy.:D

If I worked at Best Buy, I wouldn't care either. But some of these nerds are so ridiculous they would not even price-match a blu-ray movie from amazon!

A few weeks a go, I tried to get them to price-match the Walmart.com price on a blu-ray movie, and Best Buy would NOT do it. Please.

Nobody can compete with Best Buy??? Have you been to Amazon.com lately? I got my 50" Panny Plasma (G25) there for a couple hundred bucks less with free shipping and setup. No way Best Buy could touch that.

It's simple: these stores are folding because they cannot compete with the internet, especially when you factor in sales tax.
Yea it is simple when your fellow neighbors are loosing their jobs and then makes it harder for the economy to crash. I personally like to support my own city / community on buying things within it. Yea, it is great to save and bargin shop which people consider it as FREE INTERPRISE. In the end, once you loose your job, you will scratch your head and find out why you cannot find a job in your city you reside in. ;)

Not attacking you by any means, just food for thought.....

I think that is true. Best Buy are in early trouble now.

When they say they are going to talk to their suppliers about price structure. I read downgrade the quality or else.

The big box stores did just that to snow blowers and put Tecumseh out of business. Now it is almost impossible to get a decent snow blower. Round here good older ones are going for an absolute premium.

I just see an even bigger avalanche of junk descending from these trends.

I bet the posts about problems with my Onkyblow, Yamahaha, Pionsneer etc will go up exponentially from now on.

I guess it's safe to say that the economy still sucks.:(

Businesses are dropping like flies and friends and neighbors are still losing jobs.

That's it, I'm not buying another thing (after the Orion) until we get over this recession!
