Hey nice to see someone that refers to upstate NY that is not referring to Binghamton. I live in Wilmington which is next to Lake Placid. Do you ski?

Anyway good luck with the sale. There are not many of us on here from this part of the world.

Would you be willing to drive somewhere to meet, and how far away would you be willing to go? I ask because I may be interested and I live in RI.

Hi. Thanks for asking. Yes I would drive to say somewhere in MA, but you would have to get all 3 or at least 2, so I'm not spending my sale price on gas! Fair enough?

Please see the ebay auctions. I cannot sell them until the auctions are over, and, judging by the level of interest so far, they should sell. The auctions have calculators where you could determine shipping.

Ebay Auction

I have sold many things on Ebay and you can end an auction at any time.
I have this input into my listing that I can and will end an auction at any time.

i know i have 200+ 100% positive feedback from selling and buying myself. i thought he would want to sell it out of ebay and avoid final value fees but o well.

actually, since i did not stipulate that in my auctions, it does not seem fair to the bidders or (more importantly) my personal ethics. also, all of these have a charity component, so i really don't want to do that. the items have at least 9 watchers, so it doesn't really make sense to give up on the sale price going way up for one potential buyer with zero absolute commitment (as in you could and have every right to change your mind, whereas bidders have something on the line). so, basically, at this point, i'd really encourage you to bid, and you could avoid shipping, and me packing!

ju10503, I am curious about how the digital inputs work on the yamahas.

On the 5250, it has two digital coax and three digital optical inputs. Can all five be used for different devices, or are some of them shared? If they are shared, then for example if DVD/LD has a coax and an optical both hooked up, which one will the receiver use?

On the 5440, it has one digital coax and two digital optical inputs. Are these three independent inputs (I assume they are)?

For both units, are the subwoofer pre-out crossover points user adjustable,, and if not, then what are they set at (hz)?

Hi. Here are the manuals. I have paper ones that will accompany the product along with the all-important remotes:

Please see my ebay auctions. If you are in the upstate NY area, you can pick up locally and avoid shipping as a couple of these are heavy.

Thanks and hope this is allowed here. Can anyone tell me how to delete old FS posts?
All three of the above sold 11/3 on ebay. Thanks.

I was hoping to receive it by Friday, but when I just checked ebay, clicked on the tracking number, and it said "Out for delivery" I was flabbergasted. I will let you know when I get it (I'm not even at home right now). Thanks for the lightspeed shipping!

I saw some snipes on the auction I won at the last minute. Snipers are stupid (foolish) because they make the assumption that everyone else is sniping too. If that were the case, the method might work. However, you can just get around it by bidding the highest you are willing to pay and let ebay handle the bidding for you. Will they never learn? :)

i never used one but i have seen programs that will snipe bids for you on what you want and it will continue to do so until you win the item you want for price you want.

I received the HTR-5250. Packing was pretty good, definitely plenty of tape :p. One of the feet broke off, but I was able to secure it good enough so that it won't fall off. I will just have to be very careful when moving it around. I cleaned the unit and it seems to be working just fine. The manual and remote are in really good shape too. I'm satisfied.

Great! very cool that it went to someone on these forums as opposed to a complete stranger. i noticed that even your older posts have HTR 5250 in them. so did you already have one, or when you changes it did it apply the change to past posts as well?

If you are referring to my signature, I just updated that. I believe that the way the forum works is that it only saves the body of the posts in its database, but queries the user's current signature whenever a thread page is loaded. So to answer your question, this is my first Yamaha receiver and I just changed my sig two days ago. The forum makes it appear that I've had it for a while by appending my new sig to old posts.
