Just bought a second Velo to pair my other one yesterday. I tested them today with "Wanted" and his DTS-HD MA soundtrack... It kicked ***!!!

Tight, low and loud response! Just like I like it :D

Great pair for just under 1600$!

Guys you got to get paired! It'll rock your world! Last night I've watch a few episode of "Band of Brothers" and during the fight scene, at a moment, I litteraly tought that my room got hit by a SS's mortar lol.

Still got to work on my placement, but I figured that, with the power they can produce, It doesn't have to be at the perfect place, since it's so loud and tight!

i just picked up one, i couldent imagine 2 of them. also what do you find best for movies? ive been using it on movie mode, but today tried the jazz, and found it less boomy and better for watching movies, shooting scenes sound better and tighter. just wonder what type of settings your running.

Classical will give you the flattest response.

Congrats on the new sub! I've contemplated doubling up, but I haven't done it, yet.

I have a pair, but one's a lot bigger than the other one. :D

Having 2 of them, I like the keep it up with the "Classical/Jazz" preset (at least for action movies). I use "Movie" when watching a movie where the LFE is less used, like "The Heartbreak Kid", for instance. IMO, watching an action movie with "Movie" will give you too much bass extension, probably overtaking.

Still, it all depend on the sound design of the film. Your ear is the best judge!

yea thats what i found today, that the bass was to much on movie mode, i was watching transporter 2, so i flicked it through and found jazz to be best for it.

actually, any mode other than the classical setting would give you LESS bass extension. your manual will have have each mode's subsonic filter listed.

i previously had dual 5000R's myself :)

He is not the first one to confuse output with extension:eek:. It took me awhile but now I know, more output generally equals less extension, however there is always an exception to every rule.:D

Yea, the 5000R's extension stops around the mid 20s in Jazz/Classical. I noticed that while it was really powerful and shook my room, it didn't go down as low my my SVS 10 does now. I ended up selling it after much contemplation. Great, sub though.

I tought that in Movie mode the extension was the same as Jazz/Classical? I'm I right?
