does anyone know if the polk RTi12's have a internal tweeter and mid protection fuse or relay....to scared to really push them to their limit

Power limits

Most tweeters die due to inadequate amp power causing the signal to clip. Based on your receiver and amp descriptions, you are more likely to need hearing protection.
