TV stand build - rattling question

I had a rattle in my living room that I thought was the floorboards. Using the Digital Video Essentials disk and the frequency sweeps, I was able to isolate the rattling to my TV stand. It's a Salamander Designs Twin20 stand with a riser and I plan on replacing it with a new TV stand once I upgrade the TV.

My question is this: Am I better off with something modular, like Salamander Design and trying to isolate the rattle (I think it's because the side walls slip into grooves in the corner posts - they're not adehered to the rest of the structure) or is it better to buy a traditional solid-type piece like you would find from Pottery Barn or somewhere?

This may seem like a dumb question, but these stands are pricing out at over $800 and are not easy to return. Any advice would be appreciated.

Go with something solid. Or, take apart what you have and put a bead of sillicone caulk anywhere that parts can rub, shift or shake. You want the stuff that stays soft.

I wouldnt replace a $800 TV stand because of a rattle. Like Scott said, I'd find out where it's rattling, and eliminate it.

oh man, I wasn't going to replace an $800 stand. I was referring to a new stand. I'm eagerly awaiting the 2ng gen. SXRDs (without the dumbo ears) but my current stand won't handle that so a stand that will hold the 50" and my center channel is running about $850.

Since Salamander is modular, I was going to slavage the doors and side panels and just buy the new frame, but with this rattle, I'm not sure. If I caulk it like the suggestion, I'm stuck, so I guess I should buy a solid stand.
