Looking to buy a new TV and the one definite is it can not be more than 39" wide.
While my panny crt hdtv still works great I have another thread going over in subwoofers on building a new cabinet to hold my gear. Since my panny is 200 lbs. compared to 50-60 lbs on new plasma or LCD, now would be the time to upgrade since that wieght difference would change how the cabinet is built.
I'm pretty sure I want a plasma but am open to suggestions. The room has a fair amount of light during the day but no direct sunlight into the room. Veiwing is probably 40% HD sports, 30% HD broadcast TV and 30% DVD movies.
Current sources as below are motorola hd cable and sony progressive scan DVD, will upgrade to oppo once I have new TV (no hdmi on panny) will wait for now on HD DVD, no video games.
As mentioned above the only thing I'm locked on is the width can't be more than 39". I have plenty of depth so rear projection could be an option but I don't think they even make them this small and not sure if I would want one anyways with what I hear about spinning color wheels, mirrors etc.
Mainly want to get the biggest and best picure I can without exceeding the 39" width, not loking to go cheap or find something to get me by.
