JCS,

Sorry for the late response, but I wasn't following this thread. I have the Channel Master 4228. It has worked great for me, and I still have it mounted inside (eventually I'll get it outside...). I was worried that I wouldn't be able to pull in VHF very well because one of my local stations is on Channel 11, but that station comes in just as well as the UHF stations. Doesn't mean it would work as well for you, but I've been very happy with it. It replaced a set of decent rabbit ears, and it just blows them away.

How far are you from the towers? I think the 4228 is considered a UHF-only antenna but can pick up VHF if you're close enough.

I expected you to say 10 miles or so. I'm surprised that you can receive VHF channels on a UHF-only antenna over that large a distance. Nice...

I looked at antennaweb.org again, and it does say 50 miles even though it lists the location as Tucson. It lists every other station in Tucson at about 15 miles away. So, I'm not sure why that tower is listed as so far away. They might have just consolidated the city names around the area and just say "Tucson" now, as I think that it used to be listed as being in a different city.
