having a hard time getting any info on this TT. if by "preamplifier" you mean that it has a built in phono preamp, then you will not need to get one. if not, than you will have to get a stand alone phono preamp OR you will need a reciever with one built in (it will be labeled "phono" input). NEVER plug a line level device (like a CD player) into a phono input. the output of a turntable is many times lower than a line level device, so if you were to plug a turntable into a reciever without amplifying the signal you will barely be able to hear it, even with the volume cranked up. once you have a way of amplifying the TT then it is just like any other audio device (like a cd player) and you would need the same setup (i.e. you can't just plug a cd player into a non-powered speaker and get music). a good online source for all things TT is needledoctor.com.
