Tube/Solid state combo

Hey all, I am finally redoing my two channel setup. I like the benefits that both tube and solid state have to offer, so I was wondering how many of you prefer one set up over the other or if anyone out there is doing a tube pre-amp, solid state power amp set up. Right now, I'm looking at the Rogue Audio Perseus pre-amp and possibly a power amp from McCormack or McIntosh. This set up would be pushing a pair of Focal 1027be's.

The Tube preamp and SS power amp combo is very popular. I think its a good way to go for the added benefits of tubes but to still have the power and reliability of solid state amplification. Preamp tubes are much cheaper to replace than power tubes and also dont need to be replaced as often.

One combo That I think represents a particualrly good value for the money would be Odyssey Candela tube preamp with Stratos monoblocks. I know it seems like people reccomend what they own and I do own Odyssey Khartago monoblocks and recently added an Odyssey tempest preamp but as I think you will find out these products offer alot more than what you would expect at the price.
