After watching SAN ANDREAS (2015) a few times this week with tremendous Earthquake rumbling scenes that was finished off with a Tsunami wave engulfing everything in its path. Its got me thinking? I have other films that have these destructive waves.

First one in no order.

2012 (2009)
dtshdma 5.1

Fader 0.0db
LFE.1 was set at default 0.0db no +10db boast was added.

Peak hold.

Tsunami wave is, is just mixed far too low in level on the LFE.1 that doesn't give the film a creditable low end weight impact for the disaster epic.

Interstellar (2014)

Tsunami wave has a bit more low end extension.

The Tsunami wave had a slightly bigger level over "2012". Most of the Tsunami wave is covered over LCRS its only the occasional extra impact that the LFE.1 covers for few brief moments.

THE ABYSS (1989 - 1992) region 2 DVD
Dolby Digital 5.1

Tsunami wave from the special edition version contains many extra scenes, one scene is the giant wave the ALIENS create all around the globe.

LCRS also contains wave energy.

Fader was at 0.0db its surprisingly low in level. LFE.1 was set at default 0.0db no +10db boast was added.

I guess this "rouge wave" counts.

The impact of the wave has some slam depth when it rolls over the ocean liner capsizing it upside down.

LCRS has wave impact that sounds different all around for immersive envelopment.
