Because most of both the Republicans and Democrats have sold their souls to big business. And most of the electorate is too stupid to pay attention to what the politicians do that they support, and often get sidetracked into one pet issue or other (e.g., abortion, where the politician voices some opinion or other, but does not actually do anything about that issue; or pick any other "hot-button" issue). So there is little truth in advertising here.

2. Russ Andrews said it had not been their intention to imply that the Signature PowerKord would have an affect on measurable distortion levels in Hi-Fi equipment. They explained that the claim was the result of a typographical error, which had not been spotted at proof reading stage.

It's about time someone started challenging those rediculous advertising claims.

The AVA is a UK advertising industry self-policing organ, not a government agency. So the 'laws' being applied (CAP codes) are actually industry Codes of Conduct, not British legislation.
