Not to diminish this particular incident, but this is just a tiny sliver of the many apalling things Trump has done recently. Four more years of this, and there won't be much of a country left to ruin. I was pessemistic about Trump's return to office, but what has happened so far is just as bad if not worse than anything I was expecting. The USA is finished, and this is such an ignoble conclusion.

Most people here and the people we associate with have an IQ of above 100. But it is a curve slightly tilted to have slightly more people below 100. Trump's votes correlate pretty much precisely with those below 100 on the IQ curve.

Your problem is most normal people simply can't be bothered with voting. It's simply total apathy. America has two populations, the wealthy and the struggling poor. While most cities have a wonderful main street, just go round the low value suburbs,, Everyone's struggling to stay alive. Once affluent states and cities, now have deserted and broken suburbs just take Detroit as an example. In short your living in a dream that's turning into a knightmare

Detroit had all of its eggs in one basket and when GM left, they stomped on what was left- local government didn't look to the future and they still haven't dug themselves out of their hole. Milwaukee isn't too different- this city was called 'Machine shop to the World' and it has been struggling for decades.

However, the middle class is huge- it's just a problem of defining it in order for politicians to know how to abuse it.
