Denon Avr-5803 Has A Power On Problem.sometimes It Will Only Power On After You Unplug The Ac Cord And Then Plug It Back In.i Tried Resetting The Processor But That Did Not Resolve The Problem.could There Be Some Sort Of Logic Board In The Power Supply Or Turn On Section That Resets When The Ac Cord Is Inserted?

Does it power off after you turn it on? I had that problem with my 1705, which would never stay on. Not even for a second, then the protection circuit would kick in, even with nothing connected. Got it replaced for another one which works like a champ.

Actually I have something very similar with my Xbox 360, once in a blue moon the Xbox 360 wont turn on, so I tried turning off/resetting the power bar and turn it back on ( I give it about 10 secs before i turn the power bar back on, but probably does not matter) and it fixes the problem every single time.

I probably has happened about 7 times and have owned the 360 for about 2.5 - 3 years.

The process for initialization is as follows (p. 68. par. 14):
1. Switch off unit and unlpug AC cord from outlet.
2. Press and hold the DIRECT and STEREO buttons, whilst simultaneously plugging in the AC cord.
3. Check that the display is flashing with an interval of about 1 second, and release your fingers from the two buttons and the microprocesor will be initialized.

same problem with my AVR-2105

I've got the same problem with my AVR-2105
On the Denon AVR-2105, Direct and Stereo is on the same button. Who knows the initializationprocess for this amp?

Have you tried a different power cord? Could be a loose connection.
