Who do you think was the first to put feedback to use?

You're way too technical. It took me a minute or so to get the reference! As an aside, my father worked for 47 years at Bell Labs, and when he was younger he went through their "in-house" equivalent to a Master's program in EE. (early 1950's) His teacher for the course on amplifier design was Black. Nice to get tought by the guy who more or less invented negative feedback designs, but it made it hard to question what the teacher was saying! (He also took a course in information theory taught by Claude Shannon.) The ironic thing was that this program was more rigorous than a normal Master's degree program, but wasn't accredited.

By the time I worked at Bell Labs they just sent you back to a regular university for your masters.

Maybe not the first, but before Hendrix and certianly a master at it was/is.....Jeff Beck.
