Hi All,
I may be having a problem w/my Oppo 970. I 1st had a problem after updating the firmware w/the file located at http://www.oppodigital.com/dv970hd/dv970hd-firmware-3a-0916.html. I followed the procedure but after doing this I had no picture and the players display was flashing on and off. Oppo was quick to fix the player free of charge but now I notice the trim function does not work. I was told the MTK chipset was changed when I sent it in. While playing a Dolby D 5.1 DVD (Cars) I tried adjusting all the different channels but heard no change at all. I also noticed the volume cannot be lowered or raised via the remote, it only turns the sound off at the 0 setting and on at setting 1 but doesn't change between 1 -20. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and also make sure there arent other settingsthat may also need to be changed for trim to work properly. Thanks.

Volume Trim settings

I think that the volume trim settings adjust the analog outputs for SACD and DVD-A. When playing a regular DVD, you are probably using a digital audio (optical, coax, or HDMI) connection to the receiver, in which case the receiver does the bass management and volume trims.
