What I find funny is that you fellows that say you hated, or disliked it.
(BTW, hated is such a strong word, i would call it juvenile when used in this instance)

You fellows are in the minority. (out of over 82,000 votes it is averaged at a 7.8 out of 10)

Personally, I found the humor in the film quite juvenile, and uncalled for.
But the actual film with the action and superb CG, was very good IMO.

Being in my mid/late 30s, and watched it with a person in mid 60s, we bothed enjoyed it.
I will say, that I rarely go to movies anymore, because of home theater.
But this was very enjoyable in the theater (BTW, all digital theater by chance)

Also for those nay sayers, (with the word I HATED), this is/was also the top seller in the DVD and HD DVD market.
as well;
Currently (from box office) it grossed over 311 million (US only), and add another 160 million non US.

So any director that makes a movie, that rakes in over half a billion dollars, must be doing something right.
I won't disagree with you that the amount of money his movies make is impressive, but consider this: Brittany Spears sold hundreds of thousands of CDs as well - are you to tell me that she has talent? Just because it is popular and enjoyed by the masses doesn't mean it is creative and artistic. That is where my issue lies with this movie. The script was very lacking IMO. I also agree that the CG was amazing. Look at how many people buy Sony HTIBs for $250 and think they have a home theater. They live in ignorance because they just don't know any better (or can't afford better, but that's another issue for another day).

You guys went to a Michael Bay movie, called "Transformers" and are now mad because it wasn't an epic tale with the best plot in the world?

That's like buying a Hyundai and expecting it to perform like a BMW.

Must have sucked not having caviar in the concession stand, too.

BTW, that is a bad analogy by using Brittany Spears.
(I am sure a few people lost interest in your opinion after saying that)
You clearly did not read the part in my post of what ages I am referring to.

I liked the movie & so did the rest of my family,i dont get all the hubbub about the movie being bad?? its a movie for kids for gods sake, not a movie intended for adults who are looking for action movies.

There in lies the problem. Many adults desired it to be an action movie for adults; especially those that as kids followed the original series/animated movie. The movie production company claimed it would be a based very closely on the stories/characters the original generation 1 Transformers from the 80's. But in the end, only the characters names and basic likenesses seemed to have made it through this process.

When Hyundai releases their new Genesis with a 6 speed automatic V8 and over 300Hp at around $30k, you're gonna eat your hat.

I've driven and turned down offers to buy BMW's b/c I felt they were over priced and overrated. Its funny how they continue getting product of year awards from the mags while during the tests, their engines fail (335 coupe turbo), anti lock brakes fail (3 series sedan), or the airbags accidentally go off (3 series sedan).

You're right. Sorry, Cars are another passion of mine. Too bad I didn't start Caraholics so I could be reviewing them too :)

Funny that you say that as I own a BMW :)

I'm didn't like it because it WAS like an epic movie. I'm not a fan of epic type movies, save LOTR.

My point is this: Why make a Transformers movie geared toward kids/high school age when the original Transformers fan base is now aged 20 - 30?

1.) I don't wear a hat.
2.) That isn't a big feet in the automotive world. I bet the new Accord would stomp it in handling, and fuel economy with its 3 stage cylinder shut down technology.
3.) The Hyundai will fall apart.

EDIT: Wow, way to rip off the Toyota Camry, Mazda 6, and Infinity G with 1 car.

No problem Gene.:)
However, it seems as though others completely bypassed that (some people are notorious for that)

As you can see, by the last few posts.:p

My reply to his post, was just an attention getter, with hopes that he will delete posts #26 through to this post.
As ever since that post, topic has changed.

By me staying on topic, I am doing what the forum rules adhere to.

If by some reason, you are making it out as I am kissing @ss, you are sorely mistaken.

I am saying, delete my posts as well (as yours, MTry's, and his own)

If that is not clear enough for you, sorry I don't know how to make it clearer or simpler to read.

I am still interested in peoples opinions on this movie.

Was it not you, that had just made a thread, getting mad, that posts should be in correct area for the specific topic.
And you got all over others, on not adhearing to forum rules.

Sounds to me, like hypocrisy.:p

Anyhow, Gene, or any other mod, you can delete my posts as needed (thanks).;)

I never get my panties in a bunch over *SLIGHT* off topic posts, considering I've done it before. THAT would make me a hypocrite.

You're like a forum Nazi. Lots of fun can stem from a bit of off-topic posts, no need to delete the records and have everything knife edged. I was only upset because 5 music threads spawned in the steam vent. We have a music section, and regardless of anyone admitting I'm right (which I know no one will do) they ALL go in the music section.

So, I guess no one wants to talk about transformers?

The next movie is slated for 2010. I don't think I can't wait that long.

I saw a few of the cartoons years ago, I remember thinking they weren't well drawn like japanese cartoons, so I never really followed the series. The movie was ok, I went with my 4 year old who lost interest. I wont be seeing the other one. Mybe Netflix.:)

I have no nostalgic stake in Transformers (I'm older than that demo). Having seen the movie, all I can say is that by the end I was rooting for the bad robots.
Robots that give platitudinous sermons should always be deactivated.
