I've saved all my music to my PC using the the Windows Media Player 11, under the .wav format. I've finally gotten around to transferring the music to my PS3. But it doesn't sound quite right. Everything sounds just a bit harsh/shrill. I'm trying to figure out what's the issue. In the meantime, here are a couple questions:
1. When I copied the .wav files over from the PC to PS3, are the files saved in their original .wav format, or are they somehow converted to AAC or MP3 (thus degrading the quality)?
2. Instead of transferring the .wav files from the PC to the PS3, would there be any significant sound quality advantage to ripping the music to the PS3 directly from the original CDs?
Thanks in advance.
Venting: BTW, it was a PITA transferring the music over. Transferring through the mediaserver (WiFi) was so slow as to be impractical. The PS3 only recognizes FAT32 files, so I couldn't use any of my portable backup drives; instead I had to do eveything through a 4GB thumbdrive.
