That's true, but they don't have the population of the US, in numbers or attitudes/intellect/ideas/behavior/Congressional BS.

Agree. Democracy works with an informed citizenry. It is unfortunate when some gullible people believe politicians who say the govt shouldn't expropriate your hard earned money. In a democracy the govt. is us we elected them!

You are quite right. I can't speak for Europeans or Mexicans, but Canadians are becoming quite organized about boycotting American products, never mind counter-tariffs implemented by the Canadian government. I feel for American exporters who are being affected, but we have no choice but to respond in a united front. I think the trade war hasn't registered with Americans as deeply as with Canadians, because you have a whole lot of other issues occupying your attention.
Coming next - Europeans. Ireland and Scotland make very fine whiskey no need to buy American.

For sure, just bought a bottle of 'dimple' Pinch, 15 year, along with a bottle of one of my favorite Canadian whiskies for Manhattans, JP Wiser 'Deluxe'

And we elected them to do things. That costs $$$, not free. So we pay for it through taxes.
