I will never get it... I've been riding freestyle for 20+ years now and coming in from an 'alternative' sport I find the aboriginal level of most people about sports to be ludicrous most of the time.
In this world, there are almost no atheletes that ever make it to a level where they are professional. The percentage is less than 1 in 1,000 and those at the top of the game are 1 in 100,000 or less. It is staggerring how few people ever are able to make any sort of living off of pro sports despite all the people who play sports as kids.
AS KIDS
My boss is a huge basketball fan, he's really into it. I asked him how often he played, and he gave me a funny look. So, how is it that as adults you forget that to actually be 'into' a sport you are supposed to PARTICIPATE. Not go and watch, but get off your butt and actually take part in the sport that you have an interest in.
I have my own opinions on what I consider real 'sport' but I will keep them to myself. I will say that regardless of my opinion, if my kids may choose to follow any sport they want with my full encouragement. Not just me going 'okay, have fun' but me actually driving them to events, being there, and supporting them when they aren't just 5 and 10 years old - but 15 and 17 year olds as well.
Still riding - and not using drugs to get there...
