I'm glad that Andrew brought this thread back around, because I hadn't seen it before.

I have what must be the original DVD because I bought it back in 1998 (I think). I always thought that the 5.1 DD track was great. Do others think that the DD track sucks? I'm asking because I'm wondering if it's worth getting the special edition version for the DTS track.

No, no its one of those rare films that if you saw in 70mm six-track Dolby stereo with split-surrounds and best in a THX sound system cinema, oh this film is classic in the Dolby domain.

Seeing as my "High Def" monitor is a 19" RCA from 1989 I don't think I'll be needing the extra pixels...I will vouch for the dts track on it though and seeing as I picked up a copy from K-Mart for $6 its had a pretty good ROI. :D

Special Edition sounds excellent on my system but wait till the HiDef versions come out with DTHD....oh yah.
