Hah at least your misery with the Taurus will be short lived! I've driven crappy ole Fords for nearly 25yrs and still own a Focus. I didn't noticed how crappy Fords where built untill we bought our 09 Toyota.We're hoping this one is NOT totalled. If it is...

I guess they are #1 in customer satisfaction for good reason. We might consider the Civic Hybrid when the Focus dies. I just hope it won't be to soon because I hate those car paymants and the Ford is paid for

I feel your pain, we're in deer country here too.
It really sucks when hunting is limited, and there is nothing to thin the out herd and control the deer population.
More people are killed from deer collisions than many other types of interactions. (see link)

Choose carefully, with the so called grill guards; most just bend back on impact.
So you'll end up with virtually the same damage, and also have to replace a $500+ grill guard.
Especially the part where you have the most damage, around the headlight and fender.

Thanks for the link, Rick. That's really quite amazing. Deer may account for more deaths in the U.S. than those caused by all other animals combined, e.g. bear, snakes, sharks, gators, domestic cats (...I watch too much Craig Ferguson), etc. Whodathunkit?!

My 74 ford f100 with the cattle guard is the truck thats sent over a dozen deer flying, don't diss the ford...., the one night driving from Wishek to Napoleon, my wife was snoozing and I smacked a deer, and she didn't even know it, till we got to the next bar and she saw the fur on the grill guard, lol.
This is why we don't go bar hopping too often anymore, its way too far betweren bars around here.

I think some dear have a death wish. Last year when the wife and I went cross country in the 350z I saw a deer a good 100 yards off the roadway start running to intercept us, perfect timing on his part as I hard to get on the brakes hard...good thing I saw him early.
Hopefully you can't get the truck fixed. Those little toyota's run forever!
