So, for the last hour or so, a tech from the cable company worked on getting a new line from the pole to my house. I didn’t even know they were coming out. He was an older gentleman who reminded me of my first boss many years ago who was also a hard working and agreeable guy. I offered to help and guided the wire from the spool so he could pull it up to the pole and when he was all done with the job I helped him carry his ladder back to the van. He showed me the “trap” he found on the line and said I should have no problems now with the brand new line. I thanked him, asked his name and we bumped fists before he said “be safe” and drove away. So, to Tom and all the pros out there, I say thank you. To the cable company itself, I say don’t f#%k with me anymore. I’m sure the case I filed with the FTC had more to do with my new line than their good heart. I can be a real d#%k in a service and billing dispute. Shocking, I know. But, at least I got to meet Tom.
