To get new Vegas or to not get new vegas - thats my question.

Hello everyone, I am new here so go easy on me if I make a wrong step. =)

I currently own a pair of Cerwin Vega RE38s and have had them for about 7 yrs now. I have decided to search for more soul from my "system", thus I have been looking at new recievers and speakers (front floors and surrounds).

During my search I have noticed that Cerwin Vega has relased a new line of speakers that caught my interest. I am very interested in the new Classic Line and model CLSC-215 and would like to know if anyone can give me some input from first hand experience.

To summerize: would the new CLSC-215s be a better/worse/same upgrade from my RE38s I have now?

Thanks for your input,

Brent

I'd guess similar...

The Cerwin stuff is generally LOUD, not about sound QUALITY. The new model looks to be similar in that department. Based on history, I'd guess these aren't any more accurate, but still loud, so whether you think they sound BETTER will depend a lot on your personal ear/brain combination.

Bottom line: ya gotta listen for yourself. Or what the heck, just buy 3 of the new one for the front and move your current models to the rear for 5.1!

Yes, the Vegas are fairly loud but mixed with some Klipsh surrounds + and Klipsh center + Yamaha front center effects in an 8.1 setup. I think I can accomplish what I am looking for. I went ahead and picked up a Yamaha RX-Z1 reciever and am impressed with the unit and can only imagine how "good" the newer Vegas "might" be in this config.

I really wish I could get a ipinion or two from someone that has heard them.

Anyways, take care,

Brent
