Hello people I have a very important Q: My living room walls measure 20' X 13.25'. When sitting in the sweet spot I am 11' from my tv and the 13.25' wall is to my left which is also the front of my mobile home. The tv is located along the 20' wall about midway down for proper balance. The front of my home is all bay windows and my living room leads to a small closet by my front door and another entrance to my dining area. However, there is no solid wall but more of a preferatted one so to speak enclosing my dining area. The couch is along the 20' wall opposite my tv and as stated earlier about 11' from the tv. My question is if my couch is along the back wall will speakers such as the Axiom QS8's or Polk Fxi3's work well??? That means the speakers will have to go on the wall directly behind my couch. Keep in mind that I favor a more diffused sound because it engages me much more and I prefer to not know where the sound is actually coming from. I really do NOT want to use direct firing speakers because I do NOT listen to multi-channel music at all. I listen to music in 2-channel ONLY. Thus, I do also prefer excellent home theater effect because I do watch a lot of dvds. Will the di-pole speakers work as they are intended or would I actually be better off going with direct firing speakers. I mean no need to buy the more expensive di-pole designs if my living room environment is not ideal. I also am NOT a video gamer just 2-channel music listening and watching dvds. Please help if you can. Thank you for your time and have a great day.
Phil

This question has come up many, many, many times already and there have been many different solutions recommended. My short advice is, Yes, go with the di-poles.

Your situation is complex. I can not exactly picture your setup. I have bipolar rear speakers which are similar to dipolar. Mine need a wall for the rear facing drivers to reflect off. I would imagine dipolars do as well. I hope that helps.

Yes it is kinda complicated--imagine that.....LOL!!!! Sounds like the di-poles will not have much to reflect off of. Therefore, I am NOT sure if that is the way to go. Same holds true with respect to bi-poles. Looks like i am stuck with direct firing speakers. The di-poles/bi-poles allow for a more engaging sound and I prefer to not know where the sounds is coming from. Anybody here have any other ideas??
