I have def tech BP 8060 ST towers with the 10 in sub for my fronts and I use the def tech SR 8080 BP book shelf speakers for my side left and right. I was thinking of buying a pair of BP 8060 ST and place them where the book shelf speakers are and move the book shelfs to the rear to replace some speakers I bought at visions canada. do you think this would be better or a waste of money? thanks for any input

So 8060ST towers x 4?

I would not want any amps inside my speakers, so I would say it’s a waste of money.

I assume you wanted more bass by adding 2 more towers?

Buy them? You mean second hand? These aren't exactly current line. I see reviews from 2011. Back then, they went for $2000/pr speakers. So I guess it depends on how much you are looking to spend on them, and b) do you realize that these aren't the most accurate speakers:

Having amps built into speakers isn't necessarily a sin, assuming it's done correctly, like in studio monitors

I’d consider a newer model. Unless you’re willing to risk used. Not a waste if you run them 40hz or full range .
