Forums and far too much time.

But I have it under control and I can quit whenever I want!

Forums, god they are addicting. ;) Being a moderator might be part of the reason as well. :)

No, no, you have it backwards. See, what happens is, first you get hooked, then the admins see they have a live one... :p

Ack! I hate being a moderator. I was at one time, and 1st tried act just like usual. However, I ended up turning into this thing that enforced policy strictly and checking all messages for conformity. I finally quit after the other moderators would not enforce the rules fairly and even went back on decisions already made by unaminous vote amongst themselves. I have no desire to do that again! :) More power to you if you can be a moderator and not end up like a robot. I know I failed! :)

I would have to say the forums.

Not that I haven't read everything on the entire website :D . Expand the website and add 100% more reviews and I would of course double the amount of time I spent on the website.

You guys are starting to make me wonder if we are developing completely separate communities between the site and forums here.

Expand the website and add 100% more reviews and I would of course double the amount of time I spent on the website.
Karp starting on Sept 3, Audioholics will be my full time job so be prepared as I intend to give what you ask (with the help of my staff of course) :D

Forums cause it is interactive, a chance to exchange, you need the site for reivews but then you need the forums for talking about the review.

My bookmark brings right to forums. There is a whole other part of this website? ;)

I pop in to see the latest info at the main site and then hop over to the forums. By far I spend more time at the forums.

Forums vs website

Ack. Just a couple months ago I used to be a newbie who wanted to get 'surround sound.' I started innocently with Google and typed in home theatre reviews which led to your website. I read everything, somethings twice, even three times (ease up, not because it was so well, or so poorly written, I'm just a slow learner) and that led me to the forums. Now I am a lurking 'unregistered' newbie. I log on for hours. At home, at work. It's worse than a chat room. It's worse than surfing porn. I'll probably get fired. Then my wife will divorce me. She'll get the house and I'll be homeless. I'll break in and violate the family court protective order and steal the HT system. Then I'll need advice for HT that fits in a shopping cart . . . I figure I can steal power from people's outdoor outlets . . . especiallly around Christmas . . . :)

Forums, they're addictive but informative.
If you're looking to buy a new piece of equipment, unless you have no idea what to look for, posting on forums is very helpfull, but if you already know what to look for, posting for help will confuse you to the point you have to forget about it for a while, take a break and then start over again with your search and decision making, that's the way it works with me, I don't know about others.

The forums. Is there a twelve-step program to help me quit?

I had read this website and forum for a long time before I joined. The majority of my time is spent on the forums.
My main reason is the quality of adiophiles, experts and moderators that belong to this forum. Little time is spent bashing and more time is spent on informing and explaining. I'm not here to give you larger egos, but you are what makes me read day after day. Thanks...
