Thx Select2 Question

After googling THX +Select2, I discovered that all of the articles are merely parroting the LucasFilm's press release. What does THX Select2 really do for one and how does it differ from the "old" THX?

It adds another DSP mode, namely THX Games

Yeah, THX has DSP, but its really just a certification saying this product meets these standards. THX Games sounds pretty good if you need to matrix a 2 channel audio, but with the new consoles coming out and games supporting 5.1 there really isnt a need for it.

I could never understand the need for all of these dsp modes that take 2 channels and send them through 7. Mostly anything worth listening to these days is in 5.1. As for music, just how many dsp's do we need? I guess everyone has different ears/tastes of course. Neo6 Music sounds good enough for me.

I like 7 Channel Stereo myself, fills the room with sound
