Was rerunning my room correction and discovered my second sub, an SVS PB13U, was dead. Played w/ it a while, then called Customer Service. They gave me a couple more things to check. I did... still dead. Called back and the guy said it seemed like a problem with the amp.
I gave my name when I called. First, I was impressed their records are good enough that from my name he knew what sub I had, my address, email address, and that the sub was fully covered under warranty. He walked thru the procedure to replace the amp, and asked if I would be comfortable doing it. I said yes, then he gave me a couple options on how to return the old amp and receive the new one.
The process was painless. I was impressed and pleased.
Lately I've seen some comments here that SVS may be overpriced. I disagree. The sub itself is a monster and I couldn't be more pleased with its performance. When there was a problem, SVS made resolution painless. I would buy this sub again, and recommend it to anyone who asks.
Component failure is not desirable, but it is inevitable, I don't care who or what you are. When it happens, if a company can address it well enough that the customer would still recommend them, IMO that company is as good as it gets. SVS is a company like that.
