Before I actually purchase it all
I already own but this will only be for HT 5.1 (maybe eventually upgrade to 7.1(
MOnitor Audio Silver 8
Yamaha rx a 2040 (guess this would be enough power)
Rythmik F15
Need to buy the following to complete
( i might upgrade to FV15hp then maybe get a second if need be)

Silver 1 for rears
Silver center
VIZIO M70-C3 70-Inch 4K

A quick Google search did not yield any useful information, but your potential issue is that those towers are rated at 4 ohms, many receivers are not. I would just shoot Yamaha an email to be sure. But otherwise you should be good to go!

Thank you; I just want a "good" HT system nothing out of the world by any means

You should be quite pleased with this set up. Just need to make sure its paired with a receiver capable of handling a 4 ohm load is all. Just verify that, and enjoy! (and then take pics and share your set up)

The only thing I'm concerned about is that my rx a 2040 is not hdcp 2.2... I bought it a few months ago, probably should have wait because the new yamahas are 2.2

Let us know which models are 4 ohm stable too, if you've contacted Yamaha!

Will do.... id consider adding in a Emotiva XPA-5 power amp

from yamaha "Under its default settings, the unit is configured for 8-ohm speakers. When connecting 6-ohm speakers, set the unit’s speaker impedance to “6  MIN”. In this case, you can also use 4-ohm speakers as the front speakers."

I don't know a whole lot about HT... I'm a bit to new to all this, just know i want a decent HT set up = ]

I don't have a specific reason behind it but I am somewhat leery of the specs. A 6 ohm minimum means to me that the 4 ohm speakers would tax the receiver more and possibly cause issue in the long term.

IHO, the Yammy has plenty of power for driving 4 ohm speakers depending on how big the room is , how far the seating positions are from the main speakers, and how loud you intend on playing them. You will be offloading the bass from the mains to your sub so most of the power hungry frequency content will be already off loaded from the Yammy. Leave the impedance selector switch in the 8 ohm position because you will see better performance from the Yammy.

I have an old RX-V1800 driving PSB Image T45s being driven (6 ohm nominal dipping into 4 ohms in part of the spectrum ) full range and have had no problems driving the speakers to ear bust levels without hint or strain. I also left the impedance selector switch to 8 ohms.

Nice set up BTW :)

You have asked different questions in different posts but I will try to comment on all of them below.

MA Silver 8 impedance concern:

The impedance curve showed the minimum was 3.5 ohms at 165 hz, phase angle generally benigh, all according to a review by Stereophile. Their 4 ohm nominal seems on the conservative side. That combined with sensitivity of 90 dB/W/M, the RX-V2040 should be able to drive them easily in a small to medium size room for normal people who don't want to damage their hearing.:D

The question on the ohm selector:

http://www.audioholics.com/frequent-questions/connecting-4-ohm-speakers-to-an-8-ohm-receiver-or-amplifier

Please read the above linked article. I would leave it in the 8 ohm position but you should make your own decision after reading the article to get yourself better informed.

HDCP 2.2 concerns:

If you have the ability to connect your media player (e.g. BDP) directly to your TV and they are both HDCP 2.2 equipped, then not having it in your AVR is really not an issue.

Need for an External amp, such as the XPA-5:

I highly doubt you need one but to determine that you need to provide the information 3db asked in post#12. Even if you do, the XPA-2 or XPA-3 may get you more real bang for the money.

I would say just go with your plan. Your first system will never be your last, and youll learn what you like and dislike faster than you can exchange and rearrange new equipment until you are happy.
