I am looking to pick up a multichannel amp for my ht. For speakers I have monitor 9's, a cc290 and a pair of ADP-390's. Anyway the amps that I'm looking at (a mix of used and new) are:

Rotel RB-985
3 Outlaw Monoblocks just for the fronts
Outlaw 7125
Outlaw 750
Rotel 1075
Emotiva UPA-7
Adcom GFA-7400

So any thoughts or opinions on which I should target?

Thanks

Why limit yourself to home amps?

Want REAL power?

Get 3 Behringer Ep2500 amplifiers. A real, super clean 450 x 2 at 8 ohms, 650x 2 into 4 ohms and 1000 x2 into 2 ohms. Now the dowside is you need to change out the fans with silent ones from Panaflo($8 and 10 minutes of work) unless you have a dedicated A/V closet or enclosed gear cabinet. $350 each.

If you don't need the super savings price, you can also get Yamaha Pxx00S series amplifiers. The lowest price/powered one is the P2500S at 250x 2 at 8 ohms and 310 x 2 at 4 ohms. $400 each. These units have fans, but they will never come on in domestic use. The fans only come on in very high power constant use applications. You can get several models, each higher in power/price, to scale to exactly what you require for your application.

All power ratings quoted here are for both channels driven simultaneously.

I would recommend you choose whichever units looks best with your system or appeals to you in some other way on an emotional level.
