This(JBL) / This(HSU)?

Hi Guys!

I'm having a headache. I need some advice. I can handle sound proofing, area, placement, etc, but speakers and avr are not my forte that's why I narrowed down my options to this packages:

*I will use this 80%MOVIE 15%GAMING 5%MUSIC. Both are in the same price range. I just want to make a right inviestment, any 2cent boss?

I lean towards the Hsu system. I'm not a believer in 4" drivers, which is what JBL uses all around, and HSU, by virtue of being a purely Internet dealer with a heretofore fairly unknown name*, has a very liberal return policy.

Hsu counts on people not using that policy and, to do so, they cannot fall back on their name. They have to deliver the goods.

* but that's changed significantly in the past few years.

Get the Hsu system. The miniature JBL speakers won't have the clean output capability of the Hsu speakers, and the JBL subwoofer is laughable in the face of the VTF15h. Note the Hsu speakers and subwoofer are much larger than the JBL system, so make sure you have room for it, but performance wise there is no comparison.

With JBL you will have to aim higher in their line, and will spend more.
If you want a subwoofer that likes to burp, and sound boomy - then
stick with JBL. Hands down - take the HSU sub.

Thanks for that input, well HSU it is, just a follow up question. can you please recommend an AVR for this HSU? I prefer the brand pioneer with airplay hehe.

That would have been my pick, too. It has a more advanced auto calibration than the 821, and it's been on sale for about $300 off and on for the past couple of months (at least - that's when I started noticing it).

price for that receiver.

Newegg was putting it on sale on the weekends using coupon codes, as recently as two weeks ago. Might be worth waiting and seeing if they do it again.

The area is about 50 cubic meters, I hope I can handle the beast
