I guess this is a good time to ask. When you get a cable or satellite box that converts the broadcast signal to usable tv signals, is it a proprietary algorhythm or open source that a device like this can use at will? I guess the real question is, do you have to use a cable box that's provided by the cable co. or can you make your own arrangements to decode the signal like this product?
