Circuitcity.com is letting go of the Panasonic DMP-BD10A Blu-Ray player for $450(used to be $600). If you can live without BD profile 1.1, this unit features 7.1 analog multi-channel outputs and decodes everything except DTS-HD Master Audio. I have an older receiver without HDMI so this was the only way to get the hi-res audio codecs to my system without buying a new receiver. As an added bonus, it seems to have a clearer picture than my PS3 when playing Blu-Ray movies. It also uses only 42 watts when running as oppossed to the 180 watts the PS3 uses. It has decent bass management and in my case it will replace my Samsung DVD HD-841 universal player as it plays DVD-audio discs and the PS3 covers SACD if I ever choose to go that way.
If you haven't heard the hi-res audio on a Blu-Ray disc and you don't plan on upgrading receivers soon, this may be the cheapest way to go as it seems the new players are moving to sending everything via Bitstream and losing the ability to decode the audio altogether.
