dollar for dollar, you're not going to find any commercial subwoofer that will handily outperform an SVS in its price-range. just not going to happen. Another sub I would suggest (besides the SVS of course) is an Earthquake MKV-15. That sub is pretty incredible and not nearly as physically big as the SVS. They can usually be found, new, right around the SVS price-tag. Tough to go wrong wither way!!

I have a new PB12-Plus/2 that I received about 3-1/2 weeks ago. Granted this is the first sub I've ever owned, so I can't compare it to anything other that what I heard in the stores when I was shopping. All I can say is that this sub is awesome. It shakes my whole house. And it's big. I have no regrets about the purchase.

I echo kgb's thoughts here. The MKV-15 will actually give you slightly more SPL, but will sound much closer to the top of the line sealed subs for music. Not only that, no matter how loud you play it, you will never bottom out the driver and you will never hear any port noise. ;)
It's only about 17" cubed in size.

That said the Plus/2 I'm sure will more than meet your requirements as well.

Ive had the PB12/ISD2 for a while and i am very pleased with it.

Ive heard both but not in the same room .i do like the +2 over the ISD2

I rec the plus 2 to this person who had a nice size dediated HT room and was willing to spend the extra couple of bucks for the plus2.

It has better drivers and more power along with an eq.

My room is 32 x 22 and the ISD is more than able to perform without breaking a sweat.I usually keep the vol set to about 9-10 oclock w the phase close to 180.

so while more is better it isnt always necesarry but a few bucks spent now may help avoid wanting to upgrade later.

I need to get the Earthquake in here for a shakedown ... too many good guys are raving about it for it to be left out ...

Indeed Craig. Love to hear what you think. Seeing how you can get it for $1299 + shipping from custom installers (even though it retails for $2700), it would be easy enough to sell if you actually want to get rid of it. At most you would probably lose about $200, which is what one would have to pay if they returned one of the bigger SVS subs in shipping charges. :)
