thining of a nad c162 to preamp yammy 3800..thoughts?

hey all, I have a yammy rxv 3800..thinking of adding a nad c162 preamp..worth it?

You can't go wrong with the C162!!!

I have had the opportunity to compare a Bryston BP-6 against the C162. I could here very little, if any difference.

I may be a little biased because I am a huge NAD fan. The only thing I can think of that could compete with it for price is Emotiva. But I have not heard any of their products.

I can understand getting an amp to add to the 3800 but why a pre-amp? You could get more power from a dedicated amp for less money.

to be honest. i am a touch disappointed by the power output of this yammy...i had previously owned and rxv 850..and loved it..this one...hmmmmmjust isnt giving me the pucnh i expected...i thought a preamp would do that..u guys say another amp?
