Yes I can actually turn the reciever off by manually pushing the power button on the receiver. It's strange only because when I first got the sub, it would go on stanby after 10 minutes of no signal, but it hasn't been doing so for the past couple of weeks. In order to make the sub go on standby, I manually power the sub on then off again, very annoying since I like to use my sound system a good 3-5 times per day. The JBL sub10 actually has an 'auto' switch on the back of it that allows it to do the same thing- after 10 minutes of no signal, it goes on standby and fires back up when a signal is present. The sub12, the one I have, only has an on switch, but is supposed to do the same, according to the instruction manual.
