I have seen videos of computer whizzes hacking hackers, making it impossile for them to shut down the computers, letting the see themselves panic on their own screens and emptying the hacker's bankl accounts- I think it's time to hire those guys.

Well, if the hackers who are causing problems here demand payment in order to stop, maybe they can be separated from their ransom. Kind of a 'steal from the bad and give to the good' thing.

Agreed. OTOH I've just reported really fresh posts and then ignored the poster, think I've done maybe 3 ignores at one time but keeps my feed relatively clean generally. I sign in frequently, if I waited a while I'd probably find it overwhelming.

I do that, but I'm forced to wait between reporting people. Would be beneficial to have that lifted for circumstances like this.

In this case it's probably a personal attack on you with all the sh!t talking you been throwing at them for these long years. I bet forums you don't post on don't even get spam. Like, who could blame them?

p.s. I know a guy that knows a guy who knows a guy that knows that China has an agent assigned to every person who works for the XXX whose task it is to track online activities. Every. Single. Person. And thanks to the Office of Personnel Management breach, they have all our identities. So there's that.

Not sure it helps to report. The idiotic Bots can go on inventing Email addresses to infinity. Artificial stupidity, and I will never change my view on that.

The problem is that they aren't blocked by use of key word filtering.

I did a simple search for 'How to block spam bots' and lots of links showed, but most of them are trying to sell their solutions.

If Captcha is being used, maybe v2 or v3 is needed.

Spotted a sneaky one today (which I reported) in an owners manual thread. The spammer posted a normal reply but edited the quoted text above to contain a spam link. Hard to filters those out since the original post was legit.

I hate this spam crap on our forums and appreciate everyone's help. I will be looking at re-platforming the forums in the future in hopes we can resolve this. Xenforo sucks and I'd like to move us back to VBulletin.

Weird- I'm a member on several forums and XenForo is used for most of them.

If they are coming from China, I bet it will do the trick at least for a while. The trouble is these A-holes always seem to find a way round just about anything. For one thing I bet they could relay their you know what to a server in another jurisdiction. That is easy via a VPN.
