My reading comprehension is fine. SpaceX was mentioned. It was insinuated that SpaceX is some nebulous black box of a company that can somehow now only survive by having Musk ingratiate himself with the current administration.

That's the only thing I've been pushing back on because SpaceX has legitimately cemented their position through thinking outside the box when it comes to launch and recovery.

Yet again you've reading comprehension issues, and quite possible the cause of your repeated straw man. You're also getting a little unhinged.

How so? I've been talking specifically about SpaceX.

They made an estimated $3B last year. They've sued the Federal government just to the ability to bid. They launch LEO payloads at ~$2700 a kilogram vs no bid favorite ULA at $23,000. They are replacing Boeing (part of ULA) Starliner as the human launch and recovery platform.

And more WHEN than if, Starship hits it's engineering goals payloads are estimated to go down to ~$200 / KG.

I've not spoken about any other aspect then the incredible flight of fancy that SpaceX needs Musks nose up the ass of the current administration.

That I'll submit to you is what is unhinged.

To bring this back around. What is this compared to the total valuation of companies that received subsidies? The Inflation Reduction act is just one example of subsidies out there for a lot of verticals and it's intended to have an economic 'knock on' effect ultimately culminating in spurred growth of jobs, salaries, etc...

I think the picture it better painted that way IMO.

Why would anyone think they should suggest what someone else does with their own money? The reason the a government SHOULD give money (grants, loans, tax breaks etc) to corporations is because that investment will produce multiple times more in return. Take for example Tesla Gigafactory which employs over 20,000 people with an average salary of $128,000. The economic impact far exceeds the government subsidies and benefits tens of thousands of Americans.

This is the difference between L and R in America. The L (for many years) want to spend money to influence things like climate change and social engineering. The R (we’ve failed for decades) believes government should serve the people, invest in the people and that society influences government and not the other way around.

Anyway the idea that society thinks they have a say in what other people do with their money is antithetical to western society and has its roots in socialist Marxist ideas. I’m not blaming you because you’ve been fed this propaganda your whole life, it’s going to take awhile for you to break out of the matrix. We are a Nation governed by the will of the people and it’s been hijacked by individuals that believe people need to be ruled over…. That ain’t America

The cuts are so much more than the chump change Elon received, it’s a false equivalency. USAID scandal will rock the US and DHS is rolling into DC and shutting down large portions of the city as we speak. I have no clue what’s about to be revealed but they’re preparing for major upheaval

Subsidies and cuts should be able to coexist- the whole point (I hope) of DOGE is to eliminate the frivolous spending- if you have seen some of the grants and the money handed out, I would hope EVERYONE'S response would be 'WTF ARE THEY DOING?". Several websites are available to see this and if you're old enough, you may remember WI Senator William Proxmire, who had a 'Golden Fleese Award' for stupid government spending. If this waste is stopped, it can be used for something better and eventually, the government debt can be serviced.
