...Warpdrv's XLerators is in the talks right now. I'm discussing with Elemental Designs about doing an enclosure for me to house two TC Sounds LMS-R 15's that will be powered by a EP4000.

I gave them my dimensions to the Tuba HT 36h x24w x36d and told them as long as it's not bigger than that, I'll be happy.

Currently I'm leaning towards a piano black finish but I may try something else as I can already see my daughters fingerprints all over it.

I'll be very interested to see how this turns out. Any concerns power wise with using 1 amp for 2 drivers, or is that part of the "poorman" part of it? ;)

I hope to have the order in next week and have the enclosure delivered before I get home in May. I'll be ordering the subs next week as well in case PE runs out of stock.

Yeah the Behringer might have to do for awhile unless I come across a more powerful used amp or I think it may be possible to run two Behringers bridged into each sub.

A poor man's warpdrv sub is still... extravagant to say the least :D

Nice build buddy.... :D

Have you come to a idea of box size on this...
I would imagine you could do something around 6^3 or a bit less, very close in design to the size of the Submersive...

I went a bit large on the XLERATORS, and could have gone smaller, but the size of the box was acceptable. I would agree you may be a bit shy on the amp power with about 500-600w per driver at 4ohm...which is just a rebadge of the EP2500, and you can't run the drivers together with it bridged for a 2ohm load either, it just won't take it....

That is the biggest problem with the TC-Drivers, not enough coil / wiring flexibility... If you add another EP400 later down the line, that will be a good inexpensive upgrade in power, or a single Marathon 5050, 1 driver per channel....

What are you going to EQ that with... ?
Did you model this up in WINisd...? can you post your findings ?

eD is getting back to me with enclosure measurements so not sure yet. After talking with few people I'm going to look at some different amp(s) as they have said the same thing. I'll be using my trusty SMS-1.

Keeping my fingers crossed that the enclosure doesn't bust the budget. I have a couple different fall back plans both DIY and commercial but this is my top choice.

I suppose I should take one of my old square 18" boxes and build something like this for $hits and Giggles... They are 6^3 and I could add a couple pieces of ply to the outside to cover the hole and end up with a nice Dual Opposed design.

I think I may just keep using my EP2500 for the bedroom and the extra Crest 8002 would be perfect for something like that.... 1400w / ch @ 4ohm....

I'll be curious what eD comes up with for a price on that box for you.... post it up...

I don't know if they can do something like that but I do like there gloss finishes:

You have enough dual opposed subs!

Go make a dipole or transmission line or something. Or better yet, go live in that 18" box

Come on GranteedEV, don't hate.... I'm old and worked hard all my life, run my own business which is rarely less then 70hrs a week all while raising my son alone for 15 years, I would like to think I deserve some good things in my life...

I don't think I would have the patients to build speakers, but subs are just far less complicated which is just my speed for this sort of thing....

Matt - did eD ever get back to you on this...?

Not hating... just jealous :p

I do think you have enough dual sealed subs... you really should make another type of sub :D
