Shaun White had the illest halfpipe runs I have ever seen, he very much deserved to win the gold. That doube mctwist he stuck at the end of his second run was just downright amazing, it was the sickest thing I have ever seen on a snowboard.
Wicked retawded, man. That was just plain wrong.

You guys are enjoying the Olympics!? Haven't you heard? These games have been terrible! Well, according to the British press anyway. I think they have nothing else to write about, because the few winter athletes they have, generally suck.

I'm just looking forward to when the hockey games become competitive. That said, Team Canada lost to the Swiss :confused: in Turin. Don't think that will happen tonight though. I really want to see a Canada/US or Canada/Russia gold medal game. I predict Canada/Russia or Canada/Sweden.

Sorry, but I don't think the US team will make it to the final, IMHO. The forwards are very young and their speed will not make up for the lack of experience. However, Ryan Miller in goal could make Team USA a giant killer. A hot goaltender can make the difference in a short tournament like this.
I like Olympic hockey. At times, when I think about it, I wish American hockey adopted the same sized rink. At least the NHL changed the rules for more scoring, more excitement, from the days of the Devils winning 1-0 games. The wider rink seems to show off more skating skills, and just more exciting open ice plays. Paul Kariya was an excellent forward in the NHL, but his skill set seemed to be much more pronounced when Canada brought home the goal, from what I remember from those games. Anyways . . . I don't know much about hockey, but my brother is way into it. :D

Canada could defeat our own team by the pressure being applied. 35,000,000 people weigh an awful lot. Any more pressure and they'll have to have defibrillators in the locker room.
Even if the sport is not nearly as affected by home turf advantages as it is with football, home ice is never a bad thing. :)

I like speed skating just fine. I really don't care for short track, however. Train for years, get on your way to a world record run, and some idiot just blindsides you, takes you out, oh well, game over.

However, I'll still vote to get rid of curling first. I rather see Olympic foosball before I would curling.

Yes. This.

It's really just a stupid sport. Exciting to watch? Yes. But medals shouldn't be routinely decided by the bozo in front of you taking you (or your competition) out.

That's why they have judges. Guys routinely get DQ'd for bumping.

I like short and long track. Shani Davis is my favorite. That has nothing to do with him being black though. ;)

Let me know when his event(s) come up, and I'll try to make it a point to watch, and root loudly. :D

Now you're gettin' nasty! :D If they can have lawn bowling and girls prancing around a gym with a beach ball and streamers (not that it isn't pleasant to watch;) during the summer olympics, they can certainly keep curling in the winter olympics!

I take it back! We picked up a gold medal today in the women's 1000m!
I must have missed that. I think it may be on NBC tonight. Thanks for ruining it for me. :p

You really have to avoid the news and the internet during the Olympics. I HATE finding out who won before I get a chance to watch it.

Lawn bowling isn't an Olympic sport. Or is it?!

Olympic Canadian curler is FIVE 1/2 months pregnant

How is this game -- not sport -- an Olympic event?

I think he's done already. He got gold in the 1,000m the other day.
I was afraid of that. I did catch some of his medal ceremony, however.

BTW, the biathalon and skeleton were pretty interesting, for whatever little I did catch . . .

Lawn bowling? Damn straight, it's an olympic sport! Now THAT doesn't belong.

As for curling while pregnant, I tip my hat to her. It's actually not very easy. Sweeping can do you in, if you're not in shape! And, it takes good eye-hand coordination. I only did it a couple of times for fun. They only make it look easy. I'd rather watch curling than golf, that's for sure! In fact, I'd rather watch paint dry, than watch golf.

I watched it last night with Nancy and I made the foolish comment that it was the perfect sport for women since a big part of it is pushing a broom.

A swift elbow to the kidney followed.

Well, it's too bad that lawn bowling made it too. I'll blame it on the precedent of curling! What have they started?!

BTW, a 5.5 month pregnant woman could not golf at a world class level.

There's one more to go! The 1500m, Saturday, 8pm here, and most likely the same for you. I can't watch it! :( Have prior engagement. The sportscaster said that in prior interview, Davis said he's tired, but that's normal as it's the Olympics.

He won silver in Turin, but is the current world record holder, and is the favorite for the event. Thought you'd be interested.

I think the US hockey team is kicking butt! Canada needs to step it up. The Americans have role players, Canada is full of stars. The balanced team might help US in the long run. But Canada has some guys that should be grinding a little more. US doesn't have that problem so far.

I can't wait for Sunday's game between Canada and USA. It should be GREAT HOCKEY!!!

Actually, lawn bowling has been in the Olympics since Christ was a cowboy. And Tiger Woods wouldn't be able to curl at a world class level - pregnant or not. :p

How about a Sniper vs. Sniper competion? Would that be a game, or a sport? Hmmm.....:D
